Senior Property Accountant

Overview Senior Property Accountant – Westchester County, NY Compensation: $100,000 – $115,000/year + bonus • Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Property Accountant in Westchester County, NY for our client, supporting financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and portfolio-level accounting across commercial real estate assets. This role focuses on managing close processes, preparing financial statements, and supporting joint venture and lender reporting. The position requires strong GAAP knowledge, real estate accounting experience, and proficiency in Excel. Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements. Close Process: Manage journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations as part of the close cycle. Variance Analysis: Analyze financial results against budget and prior periods, providing explanations for key drivers. General Ledger: Maintain accurate general ledger records and support bookkeeping and transaction review processes. Audit and Compliance: Prepare supporting documentation for audits and assist with financial reporting requirements. Portfolio Support: Support property acquisitions, dispositions, and integration of new assets into reporting processes. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, CPA or progress toward CPA is preferred. Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience within real estate is required. Industry Knowledge: Experience with commercial real estate accounting and GAAP is required. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are required, with experience in accounting systems preferred. Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are required.
