We are looking for an experienced AML/BSA Manager to lead teams supporting financial crimes compliance work in Charlotte, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can guide investigators, maintain strong quality standards, and help deliver consistent results across active engagements. The role requires close oversight of casework, coaching of team members, and sound judgment when addressing suspicious activity, escalation decisions, and reporting recommendations. After five weeks of fully onsite training, the position will move to a hybrid schedule with in-office work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Responsibilities:
• Direct investigators and senior investigators across financial crimes compliance assignments, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Provide day-to-day leadership through coaching, mentoring, feedback sessions, and performance evaluations that support team growth and accountability.
• Track operational measures such as output, attendance, paid time off, aging inventory, and case turnaround to keep performance aligned with expectations.
• Lead recurring team discussions, calibration sessions, and performance meetings to resolve obstacles and reinforce quality standards.
• Distribute case assignments within the case management platform and balance workloads based on priorities and team capacity.
• Evaluate complex or specialty escalations before submission and provide guidance on appropriate next steps.
• Review completed work, deliver targeted quality feedback, and conduct one-on-one coaching based on findings from performance reviews and quality checks.
• Personally manage and close a daily volume of investigations while maintaining documentation standards and sound decision-making.
• Analyze quality control and decision-testing results to identify underlying causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare status reports, project updates, performance metrics, and other deliverables while promoting a collaborative and positive team environment.• At least 5 years of experience leading or supervising teams in financial crimes, risk, compliance, or related banking environments.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience, including strong exposure to AML/BSA investigations and financial crimes typologies.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in financial services, investigations, law enforcement, or a related discipline.
• Solid knowledge of AML/BSA concepts, including suspicious activity detection, transaction monitoring, and escalation decision-making.
• Ability to identify unusual patterns involving cash-intensive businesses, peer-to-peer payments, card usage, and personal wire transactions.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to spot anomalies within large volumes of data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office applications, and data analysis used to support investigative work and reporting.
• Excellent written communication skills, including clear case documentation; relevant certifications are a plus.
