Mental Health Substitute Part Time 2045 W Jarvis, Chicago, IL, 60645, Chicago, IL, US ESSENTIAL DUTIES Engage and assist clients with completing all daily living activities, including personal, medical, community, hygiene, financial, recreation and general safety. Support with medications and document all related activities in accordance with related Medication Policies and Procedures. Complete and/or assist all housekeeping tasks including cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, and client rooms; washing dishes/ doing laundry; dusting surfaces; cleaning refrigerator/stove, and all other duties assigned by manager(s) and director. Report and document issues with clients regarding overall health, medication, dental and mental health concerns to manager(s) and/or the agency nurse. As requested by the Manager or Team Lead implement dynamic, person-centered client services including but not limited to independent living skills, social/emotional development, communication, problem-solving, vocational development, and safety. As needed, assist in planning and directly implementing ongoing community-based activities in accordance with individual client goals and preferences. Ensure timely completion of all paperwork. Ensure adherence to all mandated reporter, OIG guidelines, accreditation, and DHS guidelines. Implement positive and proactive techniques and interventions as identified to assist people with mental health needs. Collaborate with co-workers (shift-to-shift) and/or manager(s) regarding member needs and concerns after each shift. Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment. Participate in all required on- and off-site training upon hire and as routinely required. Maintain professional communication with co-workers and manager(s) as well as clients’ parents/guardians, employers, staff, and other stakeholders, as needed. Provide transportation in agency vehicle and attend client health care appointments, if necessary. Be flexible and able to change tasks if needed. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications 21 years of age or older High school diploma or GED required (Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred). Demonstrated skills in the field of service to adults, demonstrated ability to work constructively with people. CPR/AED and First Aid certification; must be able to obtain certification within six months of employment (provided by agency). Ability to promote and adhere to company values. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
