Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Salem, VA
Schedule: Full-Time | Days, Nights, Mixed & Evening Shifts Available
Rotating Weekends Required
$15,000 Sign-On Bonus + Relocation Assistance Available

Compensation:

Pay Range: $32.33 – $48.50/hr. (Based on Experience)

Additional Pay:

• Night Differential: +$3.00/hr.
• Weekend Day Differential: +$3.00/hr.
• Weekend Night Differential: +$7.00/hr.

Additional Incentives:

• $15,000 Sign-On Bonus (2-year commitment required)
• Relocation Assistance up to $1,500

Position Summary

As an Emergency Room RN, you will provide rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, and treatment for patients presenting with a wide variety of medical emergencies ranging from minor illnesses and injuries to critical trauma and acute conditions.

This role requires strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a high-acuity environment while maintaining compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Triage, assess, and treat emergency patients of all ages
• Deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
• Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in acuity
• Manage multiple patients and prioritize care based on severity and urgency
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as ordered
• Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and follow-up care planning
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to hospital policies
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with emergency care protocols
• Remain calm, professional, and organized during high-pressure situations

Requirements

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing REQUIRED
• BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program PREFERRED
• Active Virginia RN License OR Compact RN License REQUIRED
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification REQUIRED
• Minimum 1 year of RN Emergency Room experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Med-Surg RNs willing to cross-train will be considered for NIGHT SHIFT ONLY
• Strong clinical judgment and emergency response skills REQUIRED
