Barback PositionPOSITION SUMMARY: Barbacks work behind-the-scenes to support bartenders and waiters during their shift. They also assist with bar opening and closing procedures.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Tidy up tables, counters and other bar areasCollect empty glasses and bottlesRestock the bar with straws, coasters and napkinsPrepare mixers, juices and cocktail garnishesReplenish garnishes and fruitsChange out beer kegs and replace liquor bottlesRemove trash and wipe down drink spillsRefill ice binsClean rags throughout the shiftAssist the Bartenders during rush hoursQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with guest and co-workersPossess the ethics and positive attitude that support our values and cultureAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and organizeBasic knowledge of bar menu items and recipesPhysical ability to lift beer kegs, hold trays of bottles and glassware and stand during the shiftEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Must be at least 21 years of ageMinimum of 2 years' experienceESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop and carryMust be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and guest traffic.Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
