Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our growing construction group of companies. This position plays a key role in supporting the accounting function across multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient day-to-day accounting operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys working with numbers, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Construction industry experience and strong GL accounting fundamentals are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations and record related journal entries.
• Manage company credit card transactions, expense coding, and documentation.
• Maintain business registrations and assist with sales and use tax filings.
• Set up and maintain vendor and customer records.
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and special projects.
• Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting-related issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience; construction industry experience required.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
