Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 1-Hour Lunch)

Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 year (Dependent on experience)

About the Role

Avalanche Truck Services is seeking a high-caliber Service Advisor / Heavy-Duty Parts Manager to drive our shop operations, parts inventory, and fleet service management. In this dual-function leadership role, you will act as the crucial link between commercial truck owners, fleet managers, diesel technicians, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Heavy-Duty Service Advisory & Fleet Operations

• Serve as the frontline technical point of contact for commercial fleets, owner-operators, and walk-in customers.
• Diagnose customer repair needs and generate detailed work orders identifying exact technical descriptions, heavy-duty service requests, and required components.
• Oversee shop workflow and master scheduling for a team of ~5 heavy truck technicians to optimize bay turnaround times.
• Direct emergency roadside response and heavy towing logistics in coordination with shop management.

Heavy Truck Parts Inventory & B2B Sales

• Identify, source, and procure Class 6–8 truck, as well as light and medium duty truck, components prior to issuing repair orders to technicians.
• Log all OEM and aftermarket parts on active work orders with strict accuracy.
• Maintain lean inventory levels while ensuring high-velocity commercial truck parts remain in stock.
• Actively develop wholesale parts customer accounts across regional truck repair facilities, fleet maintenance shops, and independent operators.

Billing, Quality Control & Systems Implementation

• Perform final quality control audits on completed job orders to ensure all labor time, diagnostic charges, and parts items are accurately recorded.
• Price out work orders for final billing and review with ownership prior to customer invoicing.
• Assist leadership in rolling out new shop management software to modernize inventory tracking, fleet maintenance records, and billing workflows.
• Collaborate with owners on long-term business strategy and facility expansion.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years of direct experience in Class 6–8 heavy-duty truck parts, commercial vehicle systems, and heavy-duty aftermarket components.
• Shop Leadership: Proven track record managing, directing, and supporting heavy-duty diesel technicians and shop support staff (5+ direct reports).
• Software Expertise: Deep familiarity with heavy-duty parts cross-referencing catalogs, shop management systems, and accounting software.
• Customer & Fleet Relations: Strong communication skills with experience handling fleet managers, commercial accounts, and high-volume operations.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of heavy-duty powertrain, chassis, brake, air, electrical, and engine systems.
