Account Manager

Job Description

Job Summary:

\n

The Account Manager supports Key Account Managers and serves as a daily point of contact for assigned customers. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate customer information, supporting account activity, assisting with forecasts and presentations, administering customer portals, and identifying opportunities to grow customer relationships through upselling and cross-referencing products.

\n

General Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Serve as the day-to-day customer contact.
\n
• Manage multiple customer initiatives simultaneously: keeping timelines, samples, approvals, pricing, item set up, forecasts, etc.
\n
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, account, and activity information within CRM software.
\n
• Assist in preparing customer-facing PowerPoint presentations and other account materials.
\n
• Administer and maintain customer portals, including updates, documentation, and account-related information.
\n
• Develop a strong understanding of customer assortments and account performance to identify growth opportunities and provide Key Account Managers with data-driven recommendations on products, licenses, formats, pricing strategies, and other initiatives aligned with customer direction.
\n
• Complete customer cross-referencing activities to support product alignment and account growth.
\n
• Assist with contractual agreements, account documentation, and customer communications.
\n
• Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to Key Account Managers.
\n
• Participate in special projects based on assigned accounts and customer needs.
\n
• Participating in customer meetings and presentations
\n
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Prior customer service or account management experience required.
\n
• Experience supporting retail accounts, retail programs, or customer-facing retail environments preferred.
\n
• Previous experience working with licensing, licensed products, royalty programs, or licensing-related documentation is preferred.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage information accurately.
\n
• Act as an internal account advocate across all departments ensuring program execution.
\n
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
\n
• Experience using ERP is required or strongly preferred.
\n
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing customer needs.
\n

• Strong customer service, relationship-building, and account support skills.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate customer, contract, and CRM records.
\n
• Ability to learn and navigate CRM, ERP, Oracle, customer portal, and other business systems.
\n

Experience and Education:

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
\n
• Two or more years of experience in account management, customer service, sales support, inside sales, or a related customer-facing role.
\n
• Experience supporting retail accounts, retail programs, or customers within a retail-focused environment preferred.
\n

Physical Requirements:

\n

\n
• Ability to remain in a stationary position, including sitting at a desk and working on a computer, for extended periods.
\n
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to 15 pounds, such as presentation materials, samples, or trade show supplies.
\n
• Ability to occasionally travel locally or attend trade shows, customer meetings, or company events as needed.
