Job Summary: The AMF (Advanced Mobile Flagging) position will perform on site roadway worker protection for activities around live railroad tracks and are responsible for job site coordination, alerting track vehicles of work groups on the roadway, and hold track vehicles at designated stations when required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provide the required jobsite protection on each assignment, error free and consistent with the rules; including but not limited to radio communication with RWIC and train dispatcher, alert track vehicles of work groups on the roadway, and hold track vehicles at designated stations when required Perform daily job briefings with all personnel on the job site and ensure all personnel adhere to the safety requirements of the railroad Prepare and submit required electronic forms including but not limited to: daily work reports, safety checklists, and other reports as required Handle and place signs, derail and other tools and equipment weighing 15 to 90 pounds, which may be necessary multiple times throughout the day Actively participate in routine reoccurring safety classes and qualification training Maintain a high level of communication with the Supervisor of AMF Operations and Manager of AMF Operations regarding the various assignments and schedules Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values Uphold the organization's standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulation Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs Travel Requirements: This position requires routine and extensive travel across the following states: DC, and Maryland . Candidates must be willing and able to travel frequently, including overnight stays, in alignment with project schedules and business needs. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Able to complete required physical demands and/or task Able to effectively warn roadway workers of the approach of trains Understand the on track safety training and qualification required of the roadway workers to be protected Proficient in the radio procedure for communicating between RWIC/EIC's (Employee in Charge) and assigned work group Proficient in performing a job briefing with all the roadway workers within their work location Able to place railroad advance warning and stop signs Able to install a railroad derail and apply locking device Proficiency with electronic communications including email and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite) Required Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) A minimum of 2 years in track and/or construction experience Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.: WMATA AMF On Track Worker and Operating Rules Why RailPros?
