The Human Resources Generalist develops, implements, and administers a full range of HR programs and policies to support a fair, respectful, and engaging work environment. This role manages core HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The Human Resources Generalist partners closely with operations to support staffing, training, and succession planning, while promoting a positive culture, strong employee engagement, and adherence to company policies and safety programs.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, including creating and updating accurate job descriptions for all positions.
Develop, maintain, and report on HR performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
Maintain confidential HR files and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and COBRA.
Coordinate the full talent acquisition lifecycle, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring qualified applicants, conducting background checks, and completing employment eligibility verifications.
Coordinate and facilitate employee orientation and onboarding to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
Serve on the plant safety committee and ensure compliance with safety programs and procedures.
Assist operations leadership with staffing assessments, training and development initiatives, and succession planning efforts.
Administer benefit programs, including life insurance, health insurance, 401(k), short-term disability, employee assistance programs, open enrollment, and routine benefit changes.
Support performance management processes, including performance reviews, development plans, and performance improvement initiatives.
Coordinate employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and workplace investigations, ensuring consistency with company policies and legal requirements.
Manage compensation processes, including administering periodic payroll for all employee groups and coordinating annual compensation reviews.
Conduct and document periodic training related to HR policies, procedures, and programs.
Promote employee engagement by organizing employee recognition and appreciation events and initiatives.
Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees, referring complex or sensitive matters to senior leadership as appropriate.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources, talent management, and employment law, and apply this knowledge to improve HR programs and practices.
Perform standard HR functions and enforce company policies to support consistent and fair treatment of employees.
Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, performance management, workers’ compensation, and occupational health and safety.
Support the company mission and vision by promoting a positive culture and strong employee engagement across the organization.
Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in HR systems and HRIS platforms.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with HRIS systems, with ADP experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong business acumen, with experience in or exposure to change management preferred.
Strong time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Human Resources certification is preferred.
Experience supporting both operational and strategic HR initiatives within a business unit.
Experience administering compensation, benefits, performance management, workers’ compensation, and occupational health and safety programs.
Experience supporting or participating in safety committees or safety programs.
Experience organizing employee engagement, recognition, or appreciation events.
Familiarity with company-specific systems and tools used in HR operations (training will be provided as needed).
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite and follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Human Resources Generalist works closely with operations and other departments in a plant or office setting, participating in safety committee activities and supporting occupational health and safety programs. The role relies on regular use of Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, including ADP, as well as other internal HR and payroll systems. The environment emphasizes confidentiality, professionalism, and collaboration, with a strong focus on employee engagement, fair treatment, and adherence to employment laws and company policies.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
