Licensed Practical Nurse - Night Shift - Health Care

Position Avera Majestic Bluffs / Avera Sister James Care Center Work Shift: Night Shift (United States of America) Overview Provide compassionate, multidisciplinary nursing care to residents, families, and friends, ensuring their physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs are met while adhering to Avera’s mission and core values. Responsibilities Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, assessing residents, and documenting physical condition and psychosocial status. Establish nursing diagnoses, objectives, and interventions, and re‑evaluate care objectives as needed. Administer medications and provide related support, following medication administration protocols. Coordinate with physicians, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams to communicate care plans and pertinent information. Teach residents, families, and friends about conditions, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluate care compliance, measure health outcomes, and modify plans according to therapeutic standards. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication storage procedures, and controlled‑substance regulations. Ensure supplies and equipment are stocked and functioning, and supervise nursing assistants and other nursing personnel. Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers to and from the facility. Qualifications LPN Requirements : Active LPN license in the state of practice. RN Requirements : Registered Nurse with a Board of Nursing license in the state of practice, obtained upon hire. One to three years of experience in a clinical or long‑term care environment (preferred). Ability to perform essential job functions, including adequate visual acuity and effective communication.
