Residence Hall Director and Assistant Director of Residential Programs

Job Summary The Department of Residential Life seeks a Residence Hall Director & Assistant Director of Residential Programs (RHD & ADRP) for a new building opening in Fall 2027. This role combines residence hall leadership with administrative duties supporting the Pre‑College Summer Program and the Living Learning Community Residential Program. The position requires on‑campus residency and on‑call availability, and will not involve the broader project/committee work of other RHDs. The individual will oversee community development, facility management, and educational opportunities for a new residential community, supervise 8–12 student staff, and coordinate staff for the summer program. Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the Living Learning Community Program, scheduling meetings with stakeholders and maintaining program documentation. Manage daily operation of a residence hall area, including student staff supervision, facility and hall operations, community building, conduct administration, and conflict resolution. Coordinate and staff the pre‑college summer program, working with Admissions and recruiting student workers for summer staffing. Serve on the campus on‑call team for crisis/emergency response. Complete additional duties as assigned, actively participate in team and college activities, and provide backup support to colleagues. Qualifications Knowledge of student learning and development, particularly in residential settings; commitment to diversity and social justice. Competence with basic office computing software and ability to learn new tools. Capacity to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work flexibly amid ambiguity. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills with students, staff, and partners. Experience supervising student staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite; familiarity with budgeting and purchase management. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Compensation Salary range: $49,650 – $52,180, based on experience. Benefits 10% employer contribution to retirement plan. Generous vacation, sick time, and 10 additional holidays.
