Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit Department RN Step Down Job Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit provides specialized care to patients who require close monitoring and interventions following hospitalization or surgical procedures. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety, effective treatment, and overall quality of care during the recovery process. Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients' health status, including vital signs and laboratory results.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions and post-discharge care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Current nursing license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Experience in a progressive care or step-down unit preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
