Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 / Annually

Job Description

Addison Group is partnering with our client to identify an experienced Patent Prosecution Paralegal. This position supports intellectual property attorneys by managing patent prosecution activities, maintaining accurate records, coordinating deadlines, and assisting with legal documentation throughout the patent application process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in a fast-paced IP legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and case management support to multiple patent attorneys.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain documentation related to U.S. patent prosecution matters.
• Track patent portfolios and monitor key deadlines to help ensure timely filings and compliance with USPTO requirements.
• Review legal documents for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
• Perform legal and technical research using platforms such as LexisNexis and other research tools.
• Coordinate communications regarding patent matters with attorneys and external contacts.
• Assist with drafting correspondence, responses, and other prosecution-related documents.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical case files while supporting ongoing workflow priorities.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience as a Patent Prosecution Paralegal within an intellectual property practice.
• Demonstrated experience supporting patent prosecution matters from filing through prosecution.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
