About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Compact license required Certifications: Certification in Sterile Processing Must-Have: Must have sterile processing experience and experience with robotic instrumentation. Description: 1ST TIMERS OK - Sterile Processing Technician This position does not require floating between units. There is no on-call requirement. Weekends are not required. Block schedules are not required. Expected ratios are not applicable. Special requirements include certification in sterile processing and experience with robotic instrumentation. Robotics experience is greatly preferred. Previous charge experience is not applicable. Experience in an acute hospital OR setting is preferred. Experience with cleaning equipment, high-level disinfection, use of washers/sterilizers, and proper selection of wrapping materials is essential. Skills required include sterilization wrapping procedures, sets/trays assembly, biological and chemical monitoring, immediate-use steam sterilization, and organizing trays. Knowledge of various surgical specialties is beneficial, including general, OB/GYN, orthopedics, and robotics. Candidates must be able to demonstrate proficiency in sterilization testing and monitoring. Responsibilities will include cleaning, documentation, and labeling of surgical instruments. Candidates must also be able to effectively organize and place instruments on trays. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment.
