Cost Accounting Manager

Company Description Fortune CompanyJob DescriptionThe Manager of Cost Accounting will be responsible for the following.Oversee the monthly valuation of all inventory for US and CanadaReview inventory and cost of sales journal entries prepared by all departmentsPrepare inventory and cost of sales reconciliations to determine variances and present to senior managementAnalyze variances and audit all data used to prepare inventory valuationsOversee physical inventory valuation proceduresReview freight files from US BankEnsure all procedures are documented and followedReview current process and enhance as necessaryDesign and implement cost accounting systemsAnalyze production costs and recommend changesHire, train and supervise cost accounting staffAct as liaison with internal and external auditors relating to cost accounting inquiriesEstablish and maintain relationships with all manufacturing and distribution center, corporate Supply Chain and Supply Chain Planning personnelPrepare quarterly schedules for parent companyResearch technical accounting issues and determine implementationSpecial projects throughout the year.Prepare management analyses of cost and volume trends. Work with Operations Teams to identify and implement inventory management and procurement improvements.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA, CMA or MBA a plusPossess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and technology skills.
