Registered Nurse Oncology Pediatric

Job Summary:

Provides specialized pediatric oncology nursing care, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management, to pediatric patients with cancer or hematologic conditions. Ensures safety, compliance, and high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and IV therapies following pediatric dosing protocols.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and manage central lines, ports, and peripheral IV sites, ensuring proper care and maintenance.
  
  
• 
  Assist with lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and other procedures related to neuro, renal, and respiratory conditions.
  
  
• 
  Perform patient assessments, wound care, and infection prevention measures, adhering to isolation and PPE protocols.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care accurately in EPIC and ensure compliance with clinical standards and safety procedures.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
  
  
• 
  At least 2 years of pediatric hematology/oncology nursing experience required.
  
  
• 
  Current BLS, PALS, and APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider certifications.
  
  
• 
  Proven competency in IV therapy, medication administration, and pediatric critical care procedures.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  
  
• 
  Strong clinical judgment and patient safety focus essential.
