Job Summary:
The Automotive Mechanic II will remove components, modify vehicles, install new components, and perform functional tests on cars and trucks in a production environment while performing a wide range of second stage manufacturing operations. The Automotive Mechanic II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Disassemble, modify and install components per provided work instructions or leader instructions.
* Remove and reinstall mechanical and electrical system components and perform minor body fabrication using supplied fixtures and templates.
* Read, interpret, and follow assembly work instructions.
* Maintain all required assembly documentation including component serial numbers and torque specs as required.
* Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
* Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.

Education and Experience (required):
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Mechanic.
* Knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
* Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Has own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekends.
* Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures.

Education and Experience (preferred):
* Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.
* National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).
* State Mechanic Certification(s).
* Valid driver"s license.
* Knowledge vehicle electronics, A.C. systems, cooling systems and general repairs.
