FDOT Sr. Roadway Inspector/ HNTB Inspector III

Overview We are seeking an experienced CEI Senior Roadway Inspector for current and future FDOT construction work in Central Florida. The position will be based in Celebration, FL and surrounding area. What You’ll Do Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents, and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications. Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform complicated mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date. Maintains Inspector’s daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified. Performs on‑site material testing and produces as‑constructed sketches as required. Performs other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Minimum 6 years of construction related experience. All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements. What We Prefer At least 4 years of verifiable FDOT CEI experience in roadway construction. FDOT certifications: CTQP Asphalt I & II, CTQP Earthwork I & II, ACI Concrete Field Technician, CTQP Concrete Technician Level 2, CTQP Drilled Shaft, CTQP Final Estimates I & II, Advanced MOT. Proficient in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications. Ability to work with others, take direction, and communicate verbally and in writing. Willingness to learn and train others. Knowledge of FDOT Electronic Earthwork Records System (ERS). Working knowledge and ability to enter samples in FDOT’s Materials Acceptance and Certification System (MAC). Location: Kissimmee, FL (Celebration Blvd).
