Job Description L3Harris in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Power Supply Design Engineer with a strong background in analog circuit design, emphasizing DC-DC Switched Mode power supply design and development for Telemetry and RF products. Experience in flyback and feedforward DC-DC converter design is required, covering low ( Essential Functions Responsible for all aspects of detailed design and development of Power Supplies for RF and microwave assemblies, including system power distribution, module-level design, schematic capture, circuit design, derating, and Worst-Case Analysis (WCA). Define EMI/EMC requirements and implement methods to meet product requirements. Prepare and present engineering design concepts and data results for IDR, PDR, and CDR. Estimate task schedules and budgets (BOEs) for programs, proposals, and IR&D efforts. Support internal peer design reviews, design verification testing of engineering units, and oversight of design through production. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required and at least 6 years of Power Supply design experience; or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 4 years of Power Supply experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills Years of development of isolated and non-isolated Buck, Boost, Forward, Flyback, half Bridge or Full Bridge Converters. Minimum of 2 years experience troubleshooting subassemblies to the component level. Professional experience independently developing test procedures and conducting design verification testing for temperature, inrush, load and line variation, and pulse loading for stability. Minimum of 2 years experience with design and test for EMI (Electromagnetic Interface). Experience within the aerospace industry. Familiarity with transmitter and receiver architecture and design. Simulation experience with tools such as PSPICE, INTERSIL ISIN, LTSPICE, OrCAD, and PADs. Understanding of EMI/EMC requirements and implementation methods to meet product requirements. Experience with the challenges associated with designing space qualified hardware and an understanding of analog and IC circuit design preferred. Ability to complete design/project goals with little to no technical supervision. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range in California for this role is $106,500.00 - $197,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; final offer may vary based on experience and geographic location.
