Step into a rewarding role as a Special Education Teacher, making a direct impact in an Affective Needs Program serving a small, focused caseload of five students. In this contract position, you'll collaborate with a dedicated support team, including four paraprofessionals in the classroom, to deliver individualized instruction and behavioral interventions tailored to each student’s unique needs.
What we’re seeking:
- Current Colorado Special Education Teaching License
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification
- Experience working with affective needs, emotional, or behavioral support programs valued
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with staff and families
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Compassion, patience, and flexibility working within a dynamic school setting
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
- Implement IEPs with fidelity, documenting ongoing progress and interventions
- Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other team members to provide consistent support
- Engage families and caregivers in their child’s learning and growth
- Maintain all required records and communications accurately and promptly
