Litigation Legal Secretary

A respected law firm in Carlsbad is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join its busy civil litigation practice. This position is ideal for a highly organized professional with strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, filings, and deadline management. The firm is seeking a candidate who can seamlessly support attorneys in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys.
• Manage and maintain complex litigation calendars, including court deadlines and hearing dates.
• Prepare, revise, format, and proofread litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence.
• Coordinate electronic filings in California state and federal courts.
• Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, client meetings, and other litigation-related events.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors.
• Assist with trial preparation and other litigation support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all court rules, filing requirements, and procedural deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Secretary.
• Strong working knowledge of civil litigation procedures, court rules, filings, and deadline calculations.
• Experience preparing and filing litigation documents in state and federal courts.
• Proficiency with legal case management, document management, and e-filing systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to handle confidential information.

• 3+ years of litigation legal secretary experience
• Hands-on experience with court filings, litigation deadlines, and legal document preparation

Compensation & Schedule

• Salary: Up to $110,000 DOE
• Full-time, on-site position
• Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• 30-minute lunch break
