Personal Care Assistant

A Personal Care Assistant provides hands-on support to individuals who need help with routine daily activities in a home or community setting. Typical responsibilities include assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders when directed by the care plan, and companionship. The role also involves observing changes in a client’s condition, documenting care appropriately, and communicating concerns to the supervising care coordinator or family contact as instructed. Basic qualifications generally include the ability to follow care instructions, maintain professionalism, respect confidentiality, and use sound judgment in a home environment. Prior caregiving experience is helpful, and familiarity with common personal care tasks is often preferred. Physical demands may include standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting or assisting with transfers, depending on the client’s needs. The schedule is full time and may include daytime, evening, weekend, or rotating shifts based on assignment requirements.
