Baker – Kona Coffee Roasters (Brooklyn, NY)
Kona Coffee Roasters is hiring an experienced Baker to join our Brooklyn-based B2B pastry kitchen. Our bakery supplies pastries and breads exclusively to our Manhattan coffee shops. There is no retail storefront.
This role is focused on hands-on production of laminated pastries and artisan breads in a structured production environment. About half of our pastry production is delivered to our stores before baking, while the remaining items are baked and finished in-house before delivery. Attention to detail, organization, and consistency are essential.
Responsibilities
Prepare laminated pastries including croissants and danishes
Produce breads including sourdough, Pullman loaves, and baguettes
Mix, shape, proof, bake, and finish pastries and breads according to production standards
Prepare and package items for delivery to Kona Coffee Roasters locations
Maintain consistency and quality across daily production
Follow food safety and sanitation standards
Work collaboratively with the bakery team to meet production goals
Qualifications
Professional bakery or pastry kitchen experience required
Experience with laminated doughs (croissants and danishes)
Experience baking breads such as sourdough, Pullman, and baguettes
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Ability to work efficiently in a production environment
Preferred
Experience in wholesale or B2B bakery production
Be able to work on Sundays
Be able to drive
Be able to work night shifts (6pm to 2am)
Interest in pastry creativity and tropical flavor profiles
