Position Summary The System Support Associate is responsible for implementing, modifying, and maintaining Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) file feeds that support critical healthcare data exchanges. This role requires hands‑on technical expertise, a solid understanding of U.S. healthcare EDI standards, and strict adherence to HIPAA compliance requirements. The associate will work as part of a technical team to integrate secure data feeds, ensure data integrity, and support ongoing system operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Implement, configure, and modify EDI file feeds to support business and operational needs Develop, maintain, and support EDI integrations using programming languages Create, manage, and support secure data transfer connections using SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) Gathers specifications from the clients, carriers & vendors and delivers the solution that meets the needs presented Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and US healthcare industry standards while managing sensitive patient data. Collaborate with internal technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to support data exchange requirements Participate in testing, validation, and deployment of new or modified EDI feeds Maintain technical documentation, process flows, and support procedures Support audits and compliance reviews by providing technical documentation and system insight Regular on‑site attendance is an essential job function due to the need for secure access to systems, collaboration on sensitive technical matters, participation in operational meetings, and hands‑on involvement Marginal Functions Build, maintain and promote relationships with team members, peers across disciplines, and all other company team members ensuring effective coordination of communications and services affecting clients. Attend webinars and training to stay up to date on best practices related to the company and department. Complete projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills and Ambilities Strong proficiency in C#, Java, Python, and SQL for developing, enhancing, and maintaining EDI integrations. Hands‑on experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) connections. Solid understanding of U.S. healthcare and benefits administration, including FSA, HSA, COBRA, 401(k), 403(b), Roth, and related benefit programs. Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance, data privacy, and security standards within the U.S. healthcare industry. Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree is preferred in computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent combination of experience, skills, and education (including other relevant non‑traditional degree programs, certifications, or job training programs). Two (2) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience implementing and supporting EDI, carrier, and vendor file feeds Experience working in a multi‑state or Professional Employer Organization (PEO) preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed Physical, Mental, & Communication Demands Physical Demands: Sedentary Work: Work primarily involves sitting for extended periods at a desk or computer. Presentation Skills: Deliver effective remote and in‑person presentations to customers, stakeholders, and industry audiences.
