Production TechnicianThis role offers an opportunity to work as a production technician in an exciting and expanding field, assembling and supporting tactical equipment for specialized end users. You will assemble, test, and package products while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, innovation, and safety. The position may assign you to a specific division or require you to support multiple divisions as business needs change, giving you exposure to a wide range of products and processes.ResponsibilitiesAssemble, test, and package customer orders in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.Inspect prototypes, production parts, and assemblies to ensure they meet specifications and quality requirements.Maintain strict quality control procedures throughout the production process.Read and comprehend work instructions, assembly drawings, and related documentation, and follow established procedures accurately.Collect and organize materials, components, and equipment needed to complete tasks and assemblies.Keep accurate records of production quantities and related documentation.Assess, repair, and maintain customer equipment as required.Collaborate with engineers to develop, prototype, and test various parts and assemblies.Maintain tools and product inventory to support efficient production operations.Ensure compliance with export regulations and maintain appropriate documentation.Travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally, to support installation and maintenance programs.Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively during assembly and testing activities.Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety.Essential SkillsTechnical knowledge and ability to read and interpret assembly drawings.Ability to work steadily with a high level of accuracy, speed, and precision.Good understanding of quality control principles and their application in a production environment.Excellent hand–eye coordination for detailed assembly and repair work.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with parts, assemblies, and equipment.Advanced knowledge of hand and power tools used in mechanical and electrical assembly.Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical and electrical components, including wiring harnesses.Ability to read and work from blueprints and related technical documentation.Experience with assembly work, including working on an assembly line.Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.Strong organizational skills to manage tasks, materials, and documentation efficiently.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on group projects.Team-oriented mindset and willingness to go the extra mile to support the team and production goals.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in manufacturing operations.Forklift certification.Understanding of DC power systems.Ability to solder wires and PCB-mounted components.Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.Comfort working with mechanical, electrical, and wiring harness assemblies.Interest in supporting tactical equipment products for specialized applications.Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for installation and maintenance programs.Why Work Here?You will join a company that offers a four-day work week (Monday through Thursday), providing an enhanced work–life balance while maintaining full-time employment. You will work with mechanical and electrical assemblies, wiring harnesses, hand tools, power tools, and related equipment in a structured production setting. The schedule follows a four-day work week from Monday to Thursday, which may include standard full-time hours across those days. The environment emphasizes safety, quality, and precision, with close collaboration between production staff and engineering teams.Job Type & LocationThis is a permanent position based out of Fredericksburg, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48000.00 - $51000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.- Three weeks (120 hours) of paid time off after first year (borrowable after 90 days of employment), with one additional day accruing at the completion of every 2 years of employment for a maximum of an additional four days (one week). Total additional accrual results in 4 weeks of Paid Time Off on an employee's nine-year anniversary.- Health, Dental and Vision insurance.
