Job Description This is a part-time position. Please join a dynamic, passionate group of substance use counselors, case managers, and prevention specialists. In the Substance Use Disorder department, we strive to work with you and provide opportunities for growth in working with a diverse population. As a Prevention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in implementing evidence-based curricula, educational presentations and positive activities designed for students and families, in Williamson and Burnet counties, with focus on improving health outcomes and strengthening protective factors. Under The Supervision Of The Director Of Substance Use Services, Assistant Director Of Substance Use Services And The Prevention Coordinator, The Prevention Specialist Will Plan, coordinate and deliver prevention curricula and educational presentations in schools and community, in-person and virtually. Facilitate and co-facilitate group presentations and activities with students of all ages and adults. Conduct Tobacco Compliance Checks within the community monthly. Participate in health fairs and other community-based programs. Build positive relationships with students, families, and community partners. Work in collaboration with community partners to increase health promotion and improve behavioral health. Maintain timely and accurate documentation and reports, and attend meetings and training as required. Provide resources and referrals to the most appropriate level of care or services. Work collaboratively with the Prevention Coordinator and Prevention Specialist to plan and provide guidance on all prevention activities and issues. Willingness to drive to various locations within Williamson County and Burnet Co as a part of job duties and responsibilities. Ability to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with youth, team members, parents, and community partners. Ability to be flexible; problem solver, self-directed; customer service-oriented, and collaborative. This position typically works during regular hours, Monday to Friday – Due to community events taking place in the evenings and Saturdays there will also be a rotating schedule for the team to provide coverage and hours during the week. This position should not exceed 20 hours per week. Location: Burnet and Williamson County Hourly Salary Range: $27.66 – $36.44 Differential Detail $1.00 per hour – 2 years previous experience Up to $4.00 per hour – BTCS Tenure

Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth and/or families. Proficiency in MS Office system. Preferred Qualifications Certified as a Prevention Specialist. Bilingual.
