What You'll Do

As a Mental Health Specialist, you will:

Provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented support that promotes safety, empowerment, emotional wellness, and personal growth. Assist residents with daily living activities, goal achievement, budgeting, community participation, and independent living skills. Coordinate and support medical appointments, medication administration oversight, and health-related needs. Encourage social engagement, recreational participation, positive coping skills, and the development of natural support systems. Complete documentation, maintain compliance with agency and HIPAA standards, and help ensure a safe, clean, and supportive residential environment.

Qualifications

Required:

Must be at least 18 years of age Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License Some previous experience working directly with individuals with mental health diagnoses and disabilities Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written Ability to successfully complete all required training programs Ability to pass Criminal Record History Clearance, FBI Clearance, Physical Examination, and Drug Screening

Preferred:

Experience in residential services, behavioral health, recovery-oriented care, or human services Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care and person-centered practices Experience supporting individuals with mental health diagnoses

Schedule

Full-Time Flexible scheduling based on program needs Evening, weekend, holiday, and overnight hours may be required Additional hours based on program and resident needs

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist individuals as needed Ability to transport and accompany residents in the community Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
