Title: Development & Events Intern
Internship Status: Part-Time to Full- Time | Unpaid
Location: Local Office/ Bryan College Station
Summary: The Development & Events Intern will support the BCS office through a variety of development, fundraising, and event planning efforts, including sponsor outreach, event logistics, and Dignity Partners programming. Under staff supervision, the intern will also have opportunities to help shape projects based on their skills, interests, learning goals, and current program needs.
Availability: The Development & Events Intern is expected to work between 10 to 30 hours per week, depending on academic schedule and event timelines. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for outreach, training, or events.
Determined in alignment with the intern’s academic requirements and school-related goals as well as Unbound Now’s scheduling needs.
Working Conditions : Work is typically conducted in a standard office or professional setting, and may include off-site outreach or training settings. On rare occasions, duties may require performing tasks in environments with exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, odors, or elevated noise levels.
Travel: This position may require limited local travel for event-related pickups, deliveries, sponsor visits, and community engagement.
Learning Outcomes:
The intern will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising support, donor stewardship, event coordination, and development operations. By the end of the internship, the intern will be able to:
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising events across multiple stages
- Assist with donor and sponsor stewardship through thank-you communications, follow-up, and record-keeping
- Contribute to compelling outreach and event materials for diverse audiences
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced nonprofit environment
- Collaborate across teams to support organizational mission and goals
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree or graduate degree with at least 60 hours completed
- Mature Christian faith, as evidenced by participation in a local Christian church
- Agree to and pass all required criminal background checks and child abuse registry checks before working with or having access to the confidential information of any clients
- High level of emotional maturity, responsibility, and strong work ethic
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Warm, professional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willing to take initiative and accept direction from paid staff
- Appreciation of cultural competency and confidentiality in sensitive work
- Training or experience in survivor-centered, trauma-informed services preferred
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, etc.) and Canva preferred
- Experience with donor databases not required but willingness to learn is expected
Internship Expectations:
- Abide by all Unbound Now policies and procedures, and comply with all applicable state and federal laws, including Unbound Now's Abuse Prevention and Response Policy
- Maintain confidentiality of clients during and after the internship, in compliance with Unbound Now policies and state and federal laws, unless legally compelled otherwise
- Arrive on time for all assigned shifts
- Commit to once-weekly in-person meetings with supervisor
- Participate in weekly team meetings and ongoing training as requested
- Discuss professional development and ethical dilemmas during weekly supervision
- Complete assigned tasks within a given time frame
Responsibilities:
Not in My City (NIMC) Event Support & Sponsorship
- Assist with sponsor outreach by researching prospects and helping draft communications under staff direction
- Support sponsor stewardship through thank-you touchpoints, updates, and recognition coordination
- Track sponsorship commitments, deliverables, and deadlines
- Gather and organize marketing materials, logos, and assets from sponsors
- Help develop and assemble sponsorship packets and proposals
- Support event logistics coordination (venue setup, signage, materials, day-of tasks)
- Help recruit and coordinate event volunteers
- Help design digital and print event materials in Canva
Night of Hope Gala/Fundraiser
- Help coordinate the silent auction: research potential donors, assist with solicitations, pick up donated items, and organize auction packages
- Assist with donor communications and thank-you outreach leading up to the event
- Support table sponsorship outreach and tracking
- Help design digital and print event materials in Canva
- Assist with guest list management and event software
- Help recruit and coordinate volunteers
- Support event logistics and day-of execution
- Assist with post-event follow-up: thank-you communications, donation receipts, and reporting
Dignity Partners Program
- Support Dignity Partners programming and sponsor engagement as needed
- Assist with follow-up communication and documentation
- Help maintain and update records in donor software
Administrative and Operational Support
- Support daily office operations and organization as needed
- Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with various outreach, operations, and administrative tasks as assigned

Physical and Driving Requirements:- Valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and being able to operate a personal vehicle preferred or arrange transportation at intern expense as needed for intern-related travel.
- Occasional physical demands may require the ability to lift or carry loads up to 30 pounds.
- Frequent demands require close visual attention to detail and prolonged periods of mental concentration.
