Role Description The Market Development Representative is a full-time, hybrid role based in Lexington, KY, with a blend of on-site market engagement and some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for driving brand awareness and growth by identifying new accounts, nurturing relationships with on- and off-premise partners, and supporting regional sales initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and lead generation, conducting product presentations and tastings, coordinating promotional events, and ensuring optimal product placement and visibility. The Market Development Representative will collaborate with sales and marketing teams to execute local market strategies, track performance metrics, and provide feedback on customer and consumer insights. This role also involves maintaining accurate records in CRM tools, reporting on activities and results, and representing Verdadero Tequila with professionalism and brand-aligned storytelling. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in lead generation and business development, with the ability to identify, qualify, and nurture new opportunities. Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and confident presentation abilities. Proven sales skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals in sales or sales & marketing roles, ideally within beverage or CPG industries. Understanding of sales & marketing principles, including brand building, promotional tactics, and basic market analysis. Knowledge of the beverage alcohol or hospitality industry and comfort engaging with bar, restaurant, and retail partners. Ability to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and maintain organized records and reports. Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business software (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, email tools). Willingness to work some evenings and weekends for events and tastings; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
