Database Engineer

Paragon Alpha is partnering with a leading quantitative hedge fund as they continue to grow their global Database Infrastructure team, hiring a Database Administrator to support the firm's mission-critical data platforms. Working across high-performance PostgreSQL and SQL Server environments, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimising the databases that power the firm's research, trading, and business operations. The role offers exposure to database administration, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, security, automation, and cloud initiatives, while collaborating closely with both engineering and business teams to deliver resilient, scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience administering PostgreSQL and SQL Server in production environments, alongside expertise in performance tuning, monitoring, database security, and high availability. Experience with scripting, automation, or cloud database technologies would be advantageous.
