Business Development Manager – CFO Technology & Advisory

We are partnering with a rapidly growing, technology-enabled professional services firm to hire a Business Development Manager into its expanding US team.

This is not an SDR or appointment-setting position. We are looking for an accomplished, full-cycle salesperson who understands how to sell technology and solutions into the Office of the CFO and can build relationships with CFOs, Controllers and senior Finance leaders.

The business has scaled rapidly across the US and is now investing further in its commercial capability. You will work closely with senior leadership and consulting teams to identify new opportunities, develop executive relationships and manage opportunities from initial conversation through to close.

The opportunity

• Build and develop relationships with CFOs, Controllers and senior Finance executives
• Originate new opportunities across technology-enabled Finance, Accounting, Reporting, Controls and Transformation
• Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation and close
• Develop a strong New York market presence through direct outreach, networking, referrals and existing relationships
• Work alongside senior consulting and product leaders to shape solutions around client requirements
• Sell into both middle-market and enterprise organisations, including PE-backed businesses
• Join a fast-growing US platform while its commercial function is still being built

What we're looking for

We are particularly interested in candidates who have sold finance or accounting technology into CFO organisations.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

• Financial reporting / close technology
• Accounting automation
• GRC / controls / SOX technology
• FP&A / planning technology
• Finance transformation platforms
• Office of the CFO SaaS solutions

You should have:

• A proven record of B2B sales success
• Experience managing the full sales cycle rather than purely generating leads
• Credibility selling to CFO, Controller or senior Finance buyers
• Strong new-business / hunter mentality
• Ability to understand finance challenges and translate them into a compelling technology or advisory proposition
• Strong executive communication and relationship-building skills

Experience with companies or platforms similar to Workiva, FloQast, BlackLine, AuditBoard or other Office of the CFO technology providers would be particularly relevant.

Professional services exposure is helpful but not essential.
