Water/Wastewater Project Engineer

We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of infrastructure projects across water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping, pipelines, and related civil works. This role will suit an experienced engineer who can manage technical activities from concept through construction while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, environmental compliance, and client service.


Responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and tender documentation. You will contribute to feasibility studies, hydraulic assessments, process evaluations, design development, and constructability reviews, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and other project stakeholders. The successful candidate will monitor project progress, budgets, risks, and deliverables; provide technical support during construction; respond to requests for information; review submittals and variations; and assist with commissioning, testing, and handover activities. You may also be involved in site inspections, condition assessments, asset evaluations, and the development of practical, sustainable solutions for existing and new infrastructure.


Applicants should hold a degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, with professional registration or progress toward registration viewed favourably. Experience delivering water or wastewater projects, together with knowledge of relevant design standards, regulations, health and safety requirements, and environmental considerations, is essential. Familiarity with hydraulic modelling, treatment processes, pipeline design, pumping systems, project controls, and engineering software will be an advantage. Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, and report-writing skills are required, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering technically sound and cost-effective outcomes are essential.
