Lab Assistant I

The Scripps Research Institute ( TSRI ) also known as Scripps Research is currently seeking a Lab Assistant I for its Florida campus. General lab support including basic biochemical analyses; plasmid, tissue, or gel prep; spectrometry. Glassware washing; autoclaving; media, solution, and buffer prep; replenishes supplies; perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned. In addition to the above, follows experimental procedures assigned by laboratory staff. Location Florida Additional Information Physical Requirements Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process. Basic Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Requires a minimum of 1+ years of related experience. Associate degree, (scientific discipline), candidates require some, (0-1 year), previous related experience required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with horizontal and vertical electrophoresis, PCR , and bacterial and mammalian cell culture are highly desirable. Preferably 1-2 years of related experience. Florida & Palm Beach County residents are preferred.
