Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have Total Joint Replacement experience and not just fractures.

Special Requests: Can only apply to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility. Previous perm candidates must have been away for 2 years. Previous travelers who were there for 1 full year must have been away for 2 years. Travel teams must be submitted together. Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

Unit Details: Ortho/tele unit caring for joint replacement and fracture patients. RNs do not read telemetry strips. No titratable drips. 3 CNAs per shift.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule. Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation.

Floating Requirements: May float to 7E, 7W, 10W, and 10E.

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
