CLS Lead/Manager - Laboratory

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift, with potential start times of 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

The CLS Lead/Manager will oversee the blood bank operations within our clinical laboratory setting. This position requires extensive experience in blood banking and management, fostering an environment of quality assurance and adhering to laboratory protocols. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient processing and testing while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

• Lead and manage the blood bank operations in the clinical laboratory.
• Ensure accurate performance of blood banking procedures, including but not limited to ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening, and crossmatching.
• Oversee quality assurance processes and controls within the laboratory.
• Coordinate staff training and development to enhance team performance and compliance with standards.
• Conduct transfusion reaction workups and efficiently report test results.
• Manage inventory and proper storage of blood products and ensure safe disposal of hazardous materials.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in blood banking and laboratory management.
• ASCP certification in Blood Banking (ASCP-BB) and Medical Laboratory Science (ASCP-MLS) required.
• Active California license required at the time of submission.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Completion of an advanced EKG exam prior to start, with a minimum passing score of 80% required.
