Travel RN - ICUAmerican TravelerSpokane Valley, Washington, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1$2,492.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a System Float Pool position at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of ICU experience and floating throughout the hospital.DetailsSystem Float Pool position at a 123-bed Level 3 Trauma Center in Spokane Valley, WAFloats between MedSurg, Acute Respiratory, ED/MS Overflow, PCU, and ICU units within scope of practiceMedSurg unit cares for medical patients (COPD, CHF, sepsis, AKI/CKD, DVT, PE, cellulitis, pancreatitis, ETOH) and surgical/ortho patients (total joints, GI, GU, GYN, podiatry, ENT)Acute Respiratory Floor cares for COPD, pneumonia, CHF, and other respiratory patients using high flow and BiPapPCU cares for Afib RVR, q4h checks, and medical/surgical progressive care patients, no cath lab, major cardiac surgery, neuro surgery, or trauma patientsICU cares for vent-dependent, sepsis, and respiratory failure patients; no neuro or cardiac intervention patientsPatient ratios: MedSurg 1:5, PCU 1:3 with no CNA support, ICU 1:2-3 depending on acuity with no CNA supportUses EPIC EMR, ICU Plum Medical IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing12-hour night shifts (1900-0730 and 0700-1930) with mandatory breaks and 30-minute mealsEvery other weekend rotation requiredNo on-call responsibilitiesSchedule cycle is every 6 weeks with 2-week advance schedule releaseRequirementsActive WA or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of ICU experience requiredCurrent certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS, and Traveler Telemetry Competency ExamEPIC EMR experience requiredSkills required include vent management, airway management, high flow O2, chest tube care, peripheral IV starts/maintenance, wound care, wound vacs, drain management (JP, hemovacs), nephrostomy tube care, pain management, PCA, central line management, and cardiac rhythm interpretationExperience with critical drips including Heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, and pressors requiredMust pass cardiac rhythm interpretation exam prior to startAdditional InformationUnit support includes 24/7 RT, in-house hospitalist, daytime intensivist with tele ICU camera access, charge RN resource support, OT/PT/SLP during days, rapid response/code team, and centralized tele monitoringCharge RN experience welcomed but not requiredOrientation includes NEO and 2 shifts on the unitShift safety huddle held at the start of every shiftScrubs must be any solid professional color with no graphics, logos, or designsFree parking providedOne holiday coverage required per contractUp to 7 days of RTO permittedFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyHours per week: 36Hours per shift: 12
