Staff Accountant

A growing healthcare services organization is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This role will support core accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to month-end close and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze journal entries, general ledger activity, and balance sheet reconciliations. Manage accounts payable processes and ensure timely and accurate transaction processing. Perform account analysis and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies. Support payroll-related accounting activities while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Assist with the month-end close process, including accruals, account reviews, and preparation of financial reporting. Maintain accurate accounting records and perform high-volume data entry with a strong focus on accuracy. Utilize Excel to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and support accounting functions. Assist with maintaining compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies and procedures. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and support broader finance initiatives. Qualifications Proven accounting experience in a corporate or professional services environment. Solid understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles. Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and general ledger accounting. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, including the ability to analyze and organize financial data. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and numerical aptitude. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
