Job Overview

Our organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join the Outpatient Adult Infusion team at the Morris Cancer Center located on the New Brunswick campus. This role specifically focuses on infusion nursing.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as an Oncology RN
• Certification in ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy is mandatory or must be obtained before the start date
• At least 1 year of experience administering chemotherapy in an oncology setting
• Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with chemotherapy protocols, safe handling, and infusion nursing practices

Preferred:

• 2-3 years of experience as an Oncology RN is preferred
• OCN certification is required or must be obtained within one year of employment
• Experience in outpatient oncology infusion is highly preferred

Certifications and Licenses

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

Scheduling Requirements

• Day shift, 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday shifts (1 per month)
• Shifts from 7 AM to 5:30 PM, including one late shift from 9 AM to 7:30 PM weekly
• Full-time position

Essential Functions

• The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the healthcare system, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, while upholding ethical standards as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles, and recognizes personal knowledge and experience levels, taking responsibility for enhancing both personal and team knowledge.
• Responsible for reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of the patient demographics served.
• Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Sets and evaluates priorities consistently, implementing appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes for improvement.
• Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
