As a member of ourMeat Team, your primary responsibility will be to cut meat andother products for sale and ensure our customers are provided withthe freshest product possible. JobDescription ExperienceRequired: Satisfactory completion of jobspecific skills assessment; 6 to 12 months experience or successfulcompletion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeshipprogram Experience Desired: Priormeat cutting experience EducationDesired: High school diploma orequivalent Certification orLicensing Required: Meat cuttingcertification Lifting Requirement:Up to 50 pounds Job Responsibilities Cut meat tobe sold to customers by taking the product out of the cooler andcutting meat into smaller sizes to be packaged forsale. Service guests by answering questionsand/or filling special orders. Rotate andcheck code dates on products to ensure customerssafety. Wrap and maintain meatcase. Provide products and services that meetthe requirements of internal and external customers at all times,and abide by the Company's Guiding Principles, Common Purposes, andService Credo's. Maintain safety as the toppriority in all aspects of our work, for our Team Members, guests,and products. Become familiar with products inthe store to answer questions and make suggestions tocustomers. Utilize knowledge of codedating. Cultivate a foodie culture by sharingexcitement and passion for food with Team Members andguests. Smile and greet customers in afriendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the TeamMember's designated department or elsewhere in thestore. Make ground meat by putting courseground into the grinder then traying meat. Inspire your fellow Team Members and our guests with a passion forfood and a willingness to go the Extra Mile to provide the bestproduct. Properly handle products andequipment in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines toensure a safe shopping environment. Provideactive sampling opportunities, whenappropriate. Unload deliveries by checking intruck. Maintain cleanliness of equipment,tables, utensils, floor, etc. to ensure that safety and sanitationregulations are met. Accurately record andassist in preparation of special orders to ensure the customer isdelighted with the finished product. Assist inmaintaining meat cooler and freezer efficiency by unloadingdeliveries. Follow proper procedures to ensurestore meets out-of-stock percentagegoals. The hiring range for this position is$20.00– $20.00 per hour/year. This range represents the anticipatedbase pay for this role. Actual compensation will be determinedbased on factors such as experience, skills, education, andlocation.
