Clinical Nurse Coord (Advanced Team - GI)

Responsibilities Provide specialized care to specific patient populations to optimize care and experience. Coordinate the plan of care and act as liaison between providers, departments, other healthcare professionals and schedulers to coordinate testing, scheduling, referrals, etc. Acts as first contact for patients, providing triage and medical advice where applicable. Monitors and manages patient appointments, testing and labs necessary for the patient population. Assists with obtaining prior authorizations for the patient population. Prepares educational material for patient use and educates and counsels patients concerning medical condition, medication or treatment. Provides specialized nursing assistance in research efforts when applicable. Provides advice, education and consultation services to nursing staff of any unit that cares for the same patient population. Attends conferences or educational opportunities to ensure up‑to‑date knowledge. Minimum Qualifications Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi‑state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. Experience Two years’ experience as an RN or five years’ experience as an LPN required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in nursing (BSN). Certification relevant to the specialized care they will be providing. Physical Requirements Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, positioning of patients, standing, walking, carrying of patients, materials and equipment weighing 35+ lbs. Working Environment Position is frequently exposed to blood and bodily fluids; possible exposure to harmful toxins. Regular exposure to communicable disease. Travel may be necessary in departments with multiple locations. Additional Job Details Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hrs.
