Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 36 hours per week guaranteed, no weekends, plus one 12-hour on-call shift per week. Specific shift times not specified.

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess surgical patients and craft personalized care plans to ensure the best outcomes
• Implement, evaluate, and fine-tune care plans during procedures, keeping patient safety front and center
• Supervise OR activities, coordinate schedule changes, and assemble all necessary equipment and supplies
• Maintain a sterile field to prevent infections and uphold the highest safety standards
• Communicate seamlessly with patients, families, physicians, and the entire OR team
• Contribute to staff development through mentoring and continuing education

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Level 2 Trauma experience required - you stay calm under pressure
• Proficiency in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, Gen/Gyn, and Urology surgeries
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Active Michigan RN license required (LARA and/or Nursys)
• Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert patient assessment and care planning
• Solid understanding of sterile field techniques and patient safety
• Strong communication and leadership skills to guide the OR team
• Experience with orthopedic, vascular, neurosurgery, gynecologic, and urologic procedures
• Trauma nursing expertise to handle any situation
• BLS certification to respond quickly in emergencies
• Adaptable and ready to hit the ground running as a travel nurse
