Case Manager

Role Description The Case Manager is a contract, hybrid role based in Southfield, MI, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role manages a portfolio of client tax resolution cases, serving as the primary point of contact and liaison between clients, attorneys, and tax authorities. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and verifying client financial information, organizing documentation, preparing case files, and ensuring all required forms and disclosures are completed accurately and on time. The Case Manager coordinates with attorneys on strategy, tracks case progress, updates clients regularly, and follows up on outstanding items to keep matters moving efficiently. The role also involves maintaining detailed case notes, using case management systems, and supporting a positive client experience throughout the resolution process. Qualifications Strong case management and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple client files, track deadlines, and maintain accurate records. Excellent client service and communication abilities, with skill in explaining complex information in clear, accessible terms and maintaining professional rapport. Attention to detail and analytical skills, with the capacity to review financial documents, identify discrepancies, and support accurate case preparation. Comfort working with digital tools and systems, including case management software, document management platforms, and standard office applications. Experience in tax, legal, financial services, or related fields is highly beneficial; familiarity with IRS or state tax processes is a plus.
