Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- BLS certification required
- Chemo certification preferred
- Experience in oncology or med-surg nursing; familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred
- Ability to work assigned weekends (schedule requires 6 weekend days per schedule)
- Team-player attitude and willingness to learn; ability to float to other med-surg units as needed

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed oncology/women's surgical inpatient unit, maintaining safe patient ratios (typically 1:4 or 1:5)
- Administer medications and treatments, assist with or perform occasional procedures (e.g., pelvic exams, thoracentesis, echocardiogram-related tasks) within scope of practice and unit protocols
- Document care and chart in the Cerner EMR and follow unit policies and guidelines
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (CNCs, CNAs, HUCs) to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Adhere to unit dress code (nursing colors: navy, white, or combination) and participate in required weekend coverage and any rare on-call duties

Job Description
This is a 13-week travel RN assignment on an inpatient oncology/women's surgical unit in Asheville, NC. The unit is a 24-bed med-surg/oncology floor with typical staffing that supports day and night coverage; patient ratios are generally 1:4 or 1:5. The role requires an RN with BLS certification, oncology or med-surg experience, and comfort using Cerner. Duties include administering treatments, assisting with occasional procedures, accurate electronic documentation, and teamwork across disciplines. The schedule includes 12.5-hour day shifts (06:45–19:15) and requires assigned weekend coverage (6 weekend days per schedule). Chemo certification is preferred but not required. Two positions are available for the assignment beginning 03/23/2026 for a 91-day duration.
