Senior Cost AccountantJob Overview Based in Largo FL and reporting directly to the Protection & Controls Controller, the Senior Cost Accountant will serve as a key member of the Finance team and have responsibility for a variety of costing and inventory activities. This position is principally responsible for leading standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost analysis across complex manufacturing operations. Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and actionable insight for plant leadership. This role owns the annual SAP standard cost roll, month-end close activities, and onsite inventory processes, while partnering closely with operations to identify cost drivers and support continuous improvement.A Day In The LifeMaintain and ensure the accuracy of standard costs, including Bill of Materials, routings, labor, and overhead rates across diverse manufacturing processes.Lead the planning and execution of the annual standard cost roll in SAP, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational changes.Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, inventory valuation, cost variance analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations.Partner with operations to classify and analyze production costs, identify cost drivers, and support continuous improvement initiatives.Identify and address root causes of process or control failures, implementing corrective actions to enhance financial accuracy, compliance, and operational discipline.Onsite financial support for the annual physical inventory and the ongoing cycle counting program.Ensure compliance with internal control policies, US GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, while identifying opportunities to strengthen financial processes.Provide financial and operational performance data to plant leadership and corporate stakeholders.What will help you thrive in this role?Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's or MBA a plus)CPA or CMA certification a strong plus2-5 years of manufacturing cost accounting experience.
