Press Brake OperatorThis role involves setting up and operating CNC and manual press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal parts according to precise specifications. You will interpret blueprints and work orders, select and install appropriate tooling, and verify that all parts meet required dimensions, angles, and tolerances using a variety of measuring instruments. You will perform inspections throughout the production process and make machine adjustments as needed to maintain consistent product quality and efficient production flow.Responsibilities:Set up and operate CNC and manual press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal parts according to production requirements.Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine job specifications and machine settings.Select, install, and adjust appropriate tooling based on material type, thickness, and required bend configurations.Perform first-piece inspections to verify that initial parts meet specified dimensions, angles, and tolerances.Conduct in-process and final inspections using measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, protractors, and micrometers.Monitor machine performance and product output, making adjustments to programs, tooling, or settings to maintain quality and productivity.Use shear presses, punch presses, and related equipment as needed to support metal fabrication operations.Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including setup parameters, inspection results, and any adjustments made.Follow lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.Operate forklifts or overhead cranes, when qualified, to safely move materials, tooling, and finished parts.Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working with press brakes, shears, punch presses, and material handling equipment.Essential Skills:At least 2 years of experience operating press brake equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC and/or manual press brake machines.Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, protractors, and micrometers to verify dimensions and angles.Hands-on experience with shear presses, punch presses, and related metal fabrication machinery.Ability to perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet quality standards.Capability to make machine adjustments to maintain consistent product quality and production efficiency.Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.Experience operating forklifts or cranes for material handling, or the ability to become qualified.Attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Experience with CNC programming or advanced machine setup is a strong plus.Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and contributing ideas to enhance processes.Comfort working with various sheet metal materials and thicknesses.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively with production teams.Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment or quality issues quickly and effectively.Why Work Here?You will join a growing manufacturing organization that is expanding its operations and investing in a dedicated weekend shift, providing opportunities for stability and long-term growth. The role is on a weekend shift, scheduled Friday through Sunday from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a structure where you work 36 hours and receive pay equivalent to a longer workweek. You can expect a hands-on, production-focused setting that requires standing for extended periods, working near machinery, and following all safety procedures and guidelines appropriate for a shop environment.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
