Job Title:  Line Cook/Prep Cook

Job Type:  seasonal or year-round, part-time or full-time 

The Stray Dog Bar and Grill is currently seeking an exceptional Line/Prep Cook to join our high volume/high energy kitchen team. The ideal Line/Prep Cook is committed, reliable, and passionate about making high quality food and working in a team environment. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, high standards, and a desire to learn. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Prepare a variety of food by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, marinating, or other relevant tasks
• Cook a variety of food in ovens, grills, broilers, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
• Follow procedures for portions, cooking methods, plating, garnishing, quality standards and all other kitchen policies and procedures
• Keep line stations clean and stocked throughout each shift to ensure smooth operations
• Follow all sanitation and food storage regulations when handling, storing, and preparing food and using kitchen equipment
• Assist in opening and closing responsibilities for the kitchen
• Attend all employee meetings and perform any other relevant task as instructed by a manager or the Director of Culinary Operations

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Have the ability to develop positive work relationships with restaurant staff and work as part of a team
• Have 1 year of restaurant industry experience
• Have the ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times and display a positive and enthusiastic approach at all times throughout your shift
• Have the ability to demonstrate a complete understanding of the menu
• Be able to follow recipes and sanitation requirements
• Have the ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the kitchen

As required by law, upon request within a reasonable period of time, I will be notified as to the nature and scope of such investigations.

If applicable, I also agree to submit to any drug test required of me, whether prior to my employment or if employed by this company at any time thereafter.

At-Will Employment Agreement

I understand and agree that nothing contained in this application, or conveyed during any interview is intended to create an employment contract between the company and me. In addition, I understand and agree that if you employ me, in consideration of my employment, my employment and compensation will be at-will, for no definite period of time, and may be terminated at any time, for any reason, or for no reason at all.
