ServiceNow Software Engineer

ServiceNow Software Engineer Contract-to-Hire. Financial Services industry. Remote with optional hybrid. Rate: $70-$80 per hour (W2). Description Our client seeks a leader to run and improve an enterprise Unauthorized Change Detection program. The role will consolidate detection signals from ServiceNow, Tripwire, and mainframe sources into a single ServiceNow workflow, automate reconciliation to approved changes, and drive investigation and remediation. The position will partner across Change Enablement, Security, Infrastructure, Applications, and Mainframe teams, align with ITIL 4 practices and financial‑sector expectations, and prepare evidence for audit and regulatory exams. The ideal candidate blends product ownership, process design, and hands‑on ServiceNow and detection‑tool experience. Responsibilities Run and manage the Unauthorized Change Detection program, including strategy, governance, metrics, and continuous improvement. Consolidate detection sources into a unified ServiceNow workflow and dashboard, ingesting external events into the ServiceNow Event table. Design and maintain automated reconciliation that matches detected events to approved changes and drives remediation for unmatched items. Partner with Change Enablement, Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Mainframe teams to resolve unauthorized changes and prevent recurrence. Oversee ServiceNow integrations, data mapping, workflow design, dashboards, and operational reporting. Ensure alignment with ITIL 4 best practices and OCC/FFIEC expectations. Prepare evidence for internal audit and regulatory exams and maintain clear documentation and control design. Lead a small cross‑functional team and influence key stakeholders. Experience Requirements 7+ years in ITSM, Change Enablement, Platform/SRE Operations, or Security Operations in a regulated financial environment. Strong hands‑on experience with ServiceNow Change, Event/ITOM, CMDB/CSDM, and workflow automation using Flow Designer and IntegrationHub. Experience with Tripwire, mainframe reporting (DB2/SAVER), or similar detection and FIM tools. Proven ability to build or oversee automated reconciliation between detection sources and approved changes. Solid understanding of ITIL 4 for Change Enablement and Monitoring & Event Management. Strong governance, analytical, and problem‑solving skills including root cause and corrective action. Excellent communication skills for executive reporting and audit or regulator interaction. ServiceNow platform exposure of 5+ years, Business Analyst background, JavaScript familiarity, and enterprise application experience. ServiceNow development experience is a plus.
