Role Summary

HHI Corporation is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the successful execution of construction projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for coordinating project staff, field operations, subcontractors, vendors, scheduling, cost management, documentation, and client communication. The Project Manager will work closely with field supervision and corporate leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements and HHI standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Operations

• Lead project staff and coordinate resources throughout the project lifecycle.
• Organize and oversee project and job site administration.
• Coordinate field supervision and support effective day-to-day project operations.
• Coordinate on-site activities with the corporate office and other HHI departments.
• Manage the direct labor workforce and maintain positive labor relations.
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve project changes and issues in a timely manner.

Scheduling & Project Coordination

• Develop, monitor, update, and communicate project schedules and periodic revisions.
• Manage subcontractor schedules and coordinate work between trades to maintain project progress.
• Coordinate cost and progress targets with project production.
• Establish and maintain procedures for the submittal, review, coordination, approval, and distribution of shop drawings, samples, and other project documentation.
• Maintain comprehensive project engineering files, including subcontract and bid package records, plans, specifications, changes, clarifications, and as-built documentation.

Subcontractor & Vendor Management

• Assist with the procurement and selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage subcontractor performance, including scheduling, quality of work, coordination with other trades, and payment processes.
• Review vendor schedules of values and prepare the project’s overall schedule of values.
• Expedite vendor estimates and proposals and prepare appropriate company estimates and proposals.
• Evaluate subcontractor payment requisitions against actual work completed.

Financial & Contract Administration

• Prepare and submit project-related invoices.
• Manage the periodic requisition process, including review, submission, and payment.
• Monitor project costs and progress to support accurate financial reporting and project performance.
• Coordinate with project staff, vendors, subcontractors, and corporate personnel to address financial and contractual requirements.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Establish and maintain a safe, secure, and professional job site environment.
• Support compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, applicable regulations, and HHI policies and procedures.
• Promote quality workmanship and effective coordination among all project trades and personnel.

Client & Stakeholder Relationships

• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Owners, design professionals, building officials, local businesses, and police and fire departments as required.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with government and non-government personnel.
• Maintain effective communication with subcontractors, suppliers, onsite staff, Project Managers, Superintendents, corporate leadership, and Corporate Safety.

Key Working Relationships

The Project Manager must be able to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. This includes government representatives, Owners, design professionals, subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, Project Managers, Superintendents, corporate leadership, and Corporate Safety.

The successful candidate will be able to coordinate multiple trades and construction disciplines while maintaining a professional, collaborative, and quality-focused job site environment. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QCM or Project Manager role supporting federal or state construction projects, including experience with agencies such as USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, DOD, or VA.
• Experience with construction project management and/or estimating.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; a skills assessment may be administered.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to meet applicable government security and site-access requirements.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, if hired.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing federal government, commercial, or industrial construction projects.
• Experience with federal construction requirements and/or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects.
• LEED training or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers training.
• Experience with Sage Project Management.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling software, including Primavera P6 and/or Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC).
