Take the next step in your school-based occupational therapy career with this contract opportunity located near Riverside, CA. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about supporting K-8th grade students in their learning environments, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact across multiple school sites.
In this engaging position, you will work with approximately 55-60 students, collaborating closely with a supportive Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). The assignment covers 2-4 school sites and operates on a trimester contract basis—August through November, November through January, and January through the end of the academic year—offering a predictable schedule Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Key Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license for California
- Previous experience in a K-8 school setting is highly valued
- Strong ability to write, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting student progress
- Excellent communication to collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and COTA staff
- Adaptability working across multiple campuses
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to K-8 students as part of a collaborative team
- Develop and update IEPs, ensuring students’ goals are met
- Document student progress and maintain thorough records
- Attend and contribute in IEP meetings and school site events
- Direct, supervise, and support the onsite COTA
